Cookbooks
I LOVE cookbooks
and could spend hours browsing through them, looking for new recipes and
then trying out as many as I can. I have a large (but not excessive)
collection of books, from Delia's Cookery Course, Leon's Naturally Fast
Food and The Bibendum Cookbook to Cooks with Kids and a book about
Cooking on campsites. Food magazines have also become a bit of an
obsession, although I try to limit it to one a month. My lovely mother
in-law buys me cookbooks, Mr Tinks, my friends and even Father
Christmas. It's a pretty safe option when anyone buys me a gift. When I find one I think makes life easier I will recommend it here. If you would like to recommend one please get in touch.

Children's Books
Like so many parents, I have been having fraught discussions about the
choice (or lack of) secondary schools for Eliza. During one of these
discussions a friend of mine told me that children who read a lot are
generally ok! I know it's a bit of a sweeping statement but I actually
think that 'generally' there is a lot of truth in it. It gives them
access to a whole new world and more importantly it means they can spend
time doing something I think is lovely, rather than constantly asking
me if they can watch the TV, play on the Wii etc etc...
Captain Underpants
The Mythical 9th Division
Another great book that Eliza read last year (when she was 9) and Jude has started to read (age 7). She thought they were brilliant and Jude is totally addicted.
Books for 11 Year Old's
These are a few books recommended by children.
